LATEST SENATOR BROWN
"U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) leads his potential Republican opponent, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, in fund-raising, according to information from the two campaigns.
The Friends of Sherrod Brown said it raised $2.4 million during the first quarter of 2017 — the best off-year quarter he has ever had, the campaign added. He finished March with $5 million cash on hand.
Mr. Mandel, who unsuccessfully challenged Senator Brown six years ago, raised about $1.5 million during 2017’s first quarter, leaving him with $2.4 million cash on hand. According to the Mandel campaign, his fund-raising included money raised by JoshPAC, a leadership campaign committee that donates money to other candidate committees.
The fund-raising reports were due to be filed last Saturday, but may not be posted by the Federal Elections Commission for several days."
