U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today took to the Senate floor to oppose Health and Human Services Nominee Congressman Tom Price. Price has supported efforts to privatize Medicare and raise the retirement eligibility age. Price also voted against the Children’s Health Insurance Program which insures more than 130,000 Ohio children and families.
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) took to the floor of the U.S. Senate today to read a letter from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s wife, Coretta Scott King, which opposes U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, President Trump’s current nominee for U.S. Attorney General. Brown read the letter in protest after Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was censured by Republican Senate leadership for attempting to read the letter last night. Warren was silenced from participating in the rest of the floor debate over Sessions. The final vote on his nomination is expected tonight.
