WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a grant with an intended total amount of $1,874,140 to the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance (MMSA) to develop an online coaching network for educators in rural communities. MMSA will partner with the Maine State Library, the National AfterSchool Association, and Development Without Limits to carry out the project.
“The Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance continues to build on innovative science and technology opportunities across the state,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “This funding will support MMSA’s pioneering online initiative to foster information sharing between rural educators and help further effective teaching techniques for the important fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.”
